What is the Access to Work grant?

The Access to Work grant can help you if your health or disability affects the way you do your job. It is a Jobcentre Plus work grant scheme, which assists disabled people who are in paid employment, or with Job/Work Trial, by providing you and your employer advice and support with extra costs which may arise because of your needs.
The Access to Work grant might pay towards a specialist support worker or Assistive Technology you need at work. It can also pay towards the cost of getting to work if you cannot use public transport. If you need a communicator at job interviews, then the Access to Work grant may be able to pay some or all of the communicator costs.
